The Blantyre Teachers’ Training College (BTTC) is one of nine governmental Colleges, training the next generation of primary school teachers in Malawi. Our aim is to give student teachers the ability to provide young children the best possible start in school and in their future. To realize this, our students are taught the fundamentals of Science, Languages, Expressive Arts, Social and Environmental Science, and Foundation Studies. Besides this theoretical training, the students use their knowledge and ability to facilitate students during their teaching practice. Applying the skilled teaching methods, and experiencing a primary school classroom environment, prepares our students for their work as teachers. Our students are under regular supervision of qualified lecturers during the teaching practice.
